- The 96th Contracting Squadron, Eglin AFB, FL, intends to solicit and award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price contract for a SteREO Discovery V12 Microscope and related components to Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Inc under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Anticipated award date is 5 August 2008. The North American Industry Classification System for this acquisition is 334516, small business size standard: 500 employees. Interested parties may submit their capabilities package to the email address below. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals/quotes. However, the government will consider all responses received within 3 calendar days of publication. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. The requirement exists for a stereo micrscope with computer-controlled motorized 10x zoom capability, maximum 250x magnification capability, capable of cold light and controllable polarized light epi-illumination and transmitted light illumination, and capable of fluorescent imaging. A tilt table for viewing specimens from easily controlled aspect angles, simultaneous photographic recordin or specimens, and small spot size epi-illumination for deep pseudopupil illuminations are also required.
