Description
As part of the re-tooling of the production of currency printing, the Bureau of Engraving (BEP)is issuing this Request for Quote (RFQ) for a firm fixed price order for its facility in Washington, DC.The BEP will issue a firm fixed price contract.The mill chosen must meet the following specifications:a)Size capacity: 9 x 24 (nominal)b)Must meet all requirements of ANSI Safety standard B65/NAPIM 177.1-2007,c)Integral base that is free standing for direct floor mount,d)Minimum 7.5HP explosion proof motor for 230/460 VAC, 3 phase, 60Hz current,e)Manual Roll Setting Gauges via hand wheels,f)Precision Ground, hardened 440C Stainless steel rolls with manual roll set,g)Cored rolls for water cooling/heating,h)Passage Cooling valves,i)Adjustable Teflon endplates,j)Stainless steel apron with hydraulic adjustment, Proposal shall include turnkey installation including: delivery, on-site set-up and training in the BEPs facility in Washington, DC 20228. Order quantity is one (1) mill to be shipped to the Washington DC facility at 14th & C Sts, Washington DC 20228-0001. This acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set Aside.This solicitation will be evaluated as lowest price technically acceptable. Technical Acceptance will be based on:Compliance to the Specifications listed above,Warranty of material and workmanship, Past Performance- Please supply three references for similar applications,And Delivery Evaluation criteria other than price will be evaluated as Pass/Fail. There will be a site visit at the Washington DC facility on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 10 AM. Vendors must pre-register to attend the site visit no later than close of business Thursday, August 7, 2008 via e-mail todonald.baron@bep.treas.gov.
