- Description
- The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Pullman, WA has a requirement for DNA sequencing. Which includes high through-put sequencing, DNA cloning and protein expression systems. Amplicon Express has been selected on a sole source basis because they have demonstrated the ability efficiently make BAC (Bacterial Artificially Chromosome) libraries. This was the method by which the USDA obtained complete sequence of the Anaplasm marginale genome. Amplicon is located near our Pullman facility making it possible to process samples from animals without freezing the samples for transport which is required. Our staff is able to work face-to-face with the staff of Amplicon Express which minimizes the need for repeat sequencing. Amplicon Express has provided same day service and the USDA needs to retain data consistency. The USDA intends on negotiating with the only known source, Amplicon.
