Description
This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This request is being issued as Request for Quotation Q8670080415. The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clauses and provisions enclosed within are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-21. FAR clauses and provisions are available through Internet access at http://www.arnet.gov/far. This is 100% set aside for small business and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The National Park Service encourages the participation of disadvantaged and women owned business enterprises. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 221320. The Government anticipates making a single award for this solicitation, vendors must quote on all items for their quote to be considered. The following is a description of the requirements for this acquisition. 1.Self Composting Toilet, per the following 3 ea $________________ $_________________ Price shall include all taxes or miscellaneous charges, and be delivered f.o.b. Tucson, Arizona Summary: Saguaro National Park needs to replace three failing pit toilets in the backcountry with three self composting toilets. Self-composting toilet shall comply with wilderness standards (i.e. no motorized parts & non-intrusive presence). These toilets will not be equipped with solar or fans. Toilets must be able to be dismantled as needed. Saguaro National Park staff will install the toilets. Specifications: * Provide self-composting toilet comparable to the Outback model manufactured by Composting Toilet Systems, Inc.* Deliver all three toilets by September 5, 2008 to park headquarters maintenance yard* Toilet structure shall be no more than 48 inches high* Tank should be handmade using fiberglass or equal material able to support 600 lbs* Resin is Isothallic type pigmented with industrial strength Gel-coat multiple layers of 1.5 oz mat and 24 oz woven material* Tank should have interior baffle walls and three interior air channels to provide adequate oxygen to the aerobic bacterium* Finish is impregnated with sand for user traction and safety* All hinges are stainless steel* Toilets shall be made out of cross-link polyethylene* Provide air tight plastic seat and lids* Provide minimum 8 inch PVC for ventilation* Toilets and vent pipe must be removable * Provide owners manual Quotors/Bidders must review and comply with the FAR Provisions or Clauses that apply to this solicitation.
