- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.This notice is being issued as a BRAND NAME ONLY Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a HAASVF-2 CNC Mill that can be used to machine and fabricate models to support on going ARCJet testing of space flight projects such as CEV and MSL. The machine must be a HAAS inorder to be fully compatible including interchangeable parts with a machine currently inuse. These materials being worked with are extremely sensitive to contamination and assuch, the machining area must be free from oil and grease contaminants during all phasesof operation. Required features of the HAAS VF-2 are: VMC; 30" x 16" x 20" (762 x 406 x 508mm) (xyz),20-hp (15kw) 7500 rpm, dual drive (Y-Delta), 20-tool carousel tool changer, 1000 ipm(25.4m/min) rapids, USB port, 1MB, rigid tapping, 55 gallon (208 liter) flood coolantsystem.Required accessories of the HAAS VF-2 are: a grease packed spindle (No HAAS P/N); a HighSpeed Machining with Look Ahead (HAAS P/N HSM); a side mount tool changer, 40-taper, 24+1tools for VF-1 thru VF-5 and all APC models(HAAS P/N SMTC40-0); a 10,000 rpm Spindle,20-hp Dual Drive (Y-Delta), VF-1 thru VF-11 & MDC-500 (HAAS P/N 10K-1); a Hard DiskDrive (40GB) and Ethernet Interface, Compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 and XP, andcompatible with server versions NT 4.0, 2000 and 2003 (HAAS P/N ENET/HD); and a WirelessIntuitive Probing System that includes wireless tool setting probe and wireless workoffset probe (HAAS P/N WIPS). All macros and all software must also be provided.Offerors must address the following delivery specifications: Due to limited access(64"wide x 94"tall point of entry) the mill must be shipped without "Silkaflex" caulking; the mill will need to be partially disassembled to move into the lab then reassembled bythe offeror as well.Offerors shall address each of the items above and detail how their proposed system meetsthe listed specifications. Items may be separately priced, however a total system pricemust be indicated, including all shipping, handling and delivery charges. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 2005-26.This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 333515 and500 Employees respectively. The offeror shall state in their offer their size status forthis procurement.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.Delivery to NASA Ames Research Center is required within 8-10 weeks ARO.
