Description
In accordance with FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole-source, purchase order to ConsultASK Ltd., in Budapest. In order to increase the efficacy of acid-fast microscopy, a functional model of a computer directed, automated, fluorescent microscope was developed at the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Semmelweis University Budapest. As part of its research activities, the plan of the Opportunistic Infection Unit of the International Laboratory Branch at the University Budapest is to initiate and scientifically guide the development of a second generation functional model using a novel LED fluorescent technique, and to evaluate the performance of the system. ConsultASK shall technically develop and construct the new functional model since the company has broad experience in the field of microscopic imaging and robotics. Various laboratory supplies will be utilized by the vendor to develop the functional model; Optical Path, Stepping Motor, Specimen Com and Software. ConsultASK developed the first generation acid-fast functional robot microscope model and participated in the development of other similar techniques for histology. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide the services described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to provide the services. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within discretion on of the government.
