Description
The Defense Energy Support Center (DESC), a field activity/inventory control point of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), will be an exhibitor at the Seventh Annual Defense Economic Development and Trade Show being held on August 12, 2008, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm, at Fayetteville Technical Community College, 2201 Hull Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303. DESC's mission is to provide the Department of Defense and other government agencies with comprehensive energy solutions in the most effective and economical manner possible. DESC purchases of energy products for fiscal year 2007 were $13.7 billion. DESC manages all petroleum resources used by the Military. DESC also buys and sells deregulated electricity and natural gas to DoD and other Federal Agency customers. We are looking for small businesses capable of providing the following: Bulk Fuels-Jet fuels: JP-8, JP-5, F76, specified bulk lubricating oils, aircraft engine oils, and fuel additives such as fuel system icing inhibitor, and crude oil in support of the Department of Energy Strategic Petroleum Reserve Program, Direct Delivery Fuels-Ground vehicle fuel: distillate fuels, residual fuels, automotive gasoline, biodiesel (B20), ethanol (E-85), ships' propulsion fuel, commercial airport fuel, installation heating oil, Missile Fuels-Missile fuels: propellants, and various chemicals and gases largely in support of the United States Air Force and the NASA space launch and satellite program, Facilities and Distribution: Advisor on matters concerning worldwide fuel terminal operations, storage and acquisition programs, Directs plans and programs for operation and maintenance of Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO), Government Owned-Government Operated (GOGO), and Contractor Owned-Contractor Operated (COCO) facilities, Administers the bulk fuels military construction and sustainment, restoration, and modernization programs: provides environmental support to DoD bulk petroleum facilities; negotiates with foreign governments; plan and administers DESC laboratory testing, alongside fueling, and large purchase base contracts, Alternative Fuels-Utility Privatization: natural gas, coal, and electricity.
