- National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions-Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH, intends to negotiate on a FAR 12 basis and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences Corporation, 800 Centennial Ave Piscataway, NJ 08855-3911 for a maintenance agreement on MRI systems. The period of performance is September 24, 2008 to September 23, 2010. This is a notice of intent and not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. This NOI is not a small business set aside. The contractor shall provide a maintenance service agreement on a General Electronic (GE) HDx 16 channel long-bore 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system (3TC). This includes the following devices: a superconducting magnet, high-power RF and gradient amplifiers, RF chain, analog and digital signal reception chains and control analog and digital electronics. The coverage includes the following: GE MR 3T HDx (M16D) 16 Channel Primary care with cold head chiller coverage; GE supplied coils, Power Tech, Spectroscopy: Coverage 8 am-Midnights, Mon-Fri. Magnet maintenance and cryogens, magnet type [MA2] MMC Coverage: 8am-9pm, Mon-Fri. The contractor shall provide a maintenance service agreement on a General Electronic (GE) HDx 16 channel 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system (1.5T CRADA). This includes the following devices: a superconducting magnet, high-power RF and gradient amplifiers, RF chain, analog and digital signal reception chains, and control analog and digital electronics. The coverage includes the following: GE MR 1.5T HDx (M#16IN) 16 channel Primary care with GE supplied coils, Power Tech, Spectroscopy. Coverage 8am-Midnight, Mon-Fri. Magnet maintenance and cryogens, magnet type [MA1] MMC Coverage: 8am-9pm, Mon-Fri GE Healthcare has the proprietary diagnostic service software and tools used to maintain the MRI system in accordance with original equipment manufacture specifications. In addition, GE Healthcare’s proprietary Remote Service Connectivity (InSite) via broadband or modem allows for 24x7 remote troubleshooting with contract coverage (GE Exclusive).
