THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a sources sought sole source notice. The required item for this posting is renewal of SPSS Software Packages that the government intends to purchase as a sole source award requirement under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. No award will be issued from responses to this notice. This notice is solely for seeking information and does not legally bind the government in any manner. United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), 7701 Tampa Point Blvd, Tampa, FL 33621, requires the renewal of SPSS Software Packages for USSOCOM. Interested parties may e-mail joseph.sherwood@macdill.af.mil or fax 813-828-5111, Joseph Sherwood, not later than Wednesday 13 August 2008; 10:00 a.m. EST. V. DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRACTORS UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES THE USE OF THE AUTHORITY CITED ABOVE (APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY) USSOCOM uses SPSS software for all current statistical analysis and simulation runs. Other Command LAN Excel packages cannot provide the capabilities of the SPSS software. Accordingly, SPSS Inc is the only firm capable of providing the maintenance and support their software packages. SPSS is the manufacturer, developer, and sole source provider and maintainer of their SPSS software packages. No other source is certified to perform maintenance and license renewal.
