Description
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), hereby announces its intent to award a sole source purchase order to Oceanic Medical Products, Inc. in Atchison, KS to purchase a Magellan 2200, Model 2 Anesthesia Machine. Components: Model 2 anesthesia ventilator, latex-free bellows, air and oxygen flowmeters, vaporizer (Sevoflurane), air and oxygen high pressure hoses, two oxygen regulators air-oxygen inlet manifold, high and low pressure oxygen disconnect alarms, required hoses and circuitry, battery operated lite, water trap, oxygen flush valve, bag-vent switch, nbc filter system, special air compressor with NATO battery installed, transformer and recharging system, waste gas scavenger, pre-use checklist, set-up instruction card, cylinder wrench, operators and service manuals on CD, padded transport case, cylinder holder mountable on case, reusable CO2 absorber canister. The US Army has spent a significant amount of funds in support of the Magellan 2200 Model 1 Anesthesia Machine. The Magellan has been designed for remote and austere environments in support of disaster relief and military operations. This anesthesia system was developed by United States Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA) and the United States Army Medical Research and Material Command (MRMC). A protocol to study the Model 2 of this anesthesia machine has been approved. Evaluating the new model with the possibility of upgrading the existing anesthesia systems is both clinically useful and fiscally responsible to facilitate future decision making regarding the purchase of portable anesthesia systems for military use. Oceanic Medical Products, Inc. is the manufacturer and is the sole source for the Magellan 2200 - Model 2 Anesthesia Machine. This award is IAW FAR Part 13.106-1(b) and authorizes USUHS to award contracts when only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. All inquires may be addressed to Genelle Hou (ghou@usuhs.mil), 4301 Jones Bridge Road, Room A1040C, Bethesda, MD 20814-4799 by 11 August 2008 at 12:00 p.m.
