- THIS IS A SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, permits, licenses and supervision for Project # 529-07-117, Replace Elevator, Building 2, at the VA Medical Center, Butler, PA 16001 in accordance with the specifications and drawings. This project includes all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and services required for the limited renewal/upgrade of the existing one (1) in-ground electro-hydraulic passenger elevator system as described herein and shown on the drawings. All of the elevator equipment shall be designed, constructed, installed and adjusted to secure the best commercial available results with respect to smooth, quiet, convenient and efficient operation, durability, economy of maintenance and operation, and the highest standard of safety. The work shall include but not be limited to: new hydraulic power unit with submersible pump, valve and tank, new jack and piston unit with PVC liner, new heating /cooling hydraulic fluid unit, new microprocessor based controller with new auto lowering unit, new hall/car operating signal fixtures, new car door operator, new hoistway door tracks, hangers, rollers, guides, closers and interlocks, new hoistway/machine room electric wiring, new machine room main and auxiliary electric power disconnect switches, new machine room ventilation, new pit sump pump, firemen service operation, new car guides, handicapped compliance, and new car operating panels with LCD along with all applicable electrical, mechanical, structural and plumbing trade requirements. Retain and reuse car rails and hoistway entrance frames/saddles. Full warranty shall be provided for the elevator system. Utilize six (6) days at ten (10) hours per day, for a total of sixty (60) weekly work hours Monday through Saturday for the entire length of the project. Completion Time: 150 calendar days. Price range is $250,000.00 - $500,000.00. NAICS Code is 236220. Bidding material/drawings will be available on/about August 22, 2008. A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled on September 4, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the VA Medical Center, Butler, Building 21 (Rear) followed by a site visit. The Bid Opening date is on/about September 23, 2008. Bidders are advised that it is your responsibility to review and monitor the website frequently to ensure you have the most up to date information, including amendments.
