- SOURCES SOUGHT Repair of Hangar 435 Doors The purpose of this sources sought notice is to obtain information from capable firms with the ability to repair the hangar doors on Hangar 435 at Altus AFB, Oklahoma. The Government is seeking interested Small Businesses, Emerging Small Businesses, Certified 8(a)s, Certified Hubzones, and/or Service Disabled Veteran firms who can perform this work. Prospective contractors should be registered with CCR and ORCA. The work to be accomplished consists, in general, of the following principal items. This does not mean the work consists only of these items, but that it consists of these principal items along with all incidental minor work which becomes necessary to complete in order to accomplish the overall project in satisfactory and workman like manner meeting the approval of the customer and Contracting Officer. Building 435 is a hangar that has problems with opening its large hangar doors. On the East end of the hangar, the South door works. The North door is hung up on a suspended I-beam railing system at the top. On the West end of the hangar, the South door works. The North door has electrical problems in the system. Contractors Responsibilities East End, North Door: Contractor shall repair/replace 400’ upper guide beam on which the outermost door rolls upon. The beam is sagging in the middle (see accompanying pictures). Other repairs may be needed to get door operational. West End, North Door: Contractor shall repair electrical/mechanical system that open and close the doors to full operational capability. Structural stability of doors appears functional. Both doors: Replace 16 upper roller assemblies. Install new vertical support for upper guide beam along center span to prevent future deflection problems. Pictures of doors and drawings of the hangar will be made available upon request. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement.
