Attachment shall be by welding 4" x 4" x steel plates to the round bar, and then welding the other end of the plates to the good leg members on either side of the damaged leg such that the load on the damaged leg member (at approx 300' above ground level) is bypassed onto the round bar. 2)Cleaning the rust out of the split and damaged leg member and encapsulating it with and epoxy-type coating so as to prevent further damage. 3)Coating all welded connections with an epoxy-type coating so as to prevent rust 4)Certification from a registered structural engineering firm that the repair meets current engineering codes and is successfully transmitting the tower load through the new members within their load rating.
