- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWC-CD) has a requirement for Navy qualified AA-26 Rubber compound 314-1192 Mod 23. NSWCCD intend to negotiate a non-competitive procurement using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and award a firm fixed prices purchase order to Burke Industries Inc.,2250 South Tenth Street San Jose CA 95112-4197. The contractor shall provide 7245 (15 batches containing 483 pounds per batch) of AA-26 Rubber compound 314-1193 Mod 23 to be used to make submarine tiles to meet the Newport News Shipbuilding specifications. Only one responsible source and not other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements under authority of Far 6.302-1. Burke Industries is the only vender currently qualified to make this material to meet AA-26 specification. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals however all responsible sources submitting proposals within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. Interested parties may forward their capabilities statements to the Government POC on or before 8/25/2008. A determination of the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Anticipated award date is on or around the 26th of Aug 2008.
