Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Servicer Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, with HP Federal Relocation Team, Hewlett Packard Company, 6600 Rockledge Drive, Suite 150, Bethesda, MD 20815 for the relocation of AFRL/RIOS Storage Area Network (SAN) equipment. The relocation is due to the RIOS Data Center which supports AFRL/RRS Enterprise services being required to move from one building to another. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, information received by the response date of this solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 541519. Sole Source Justification: Due to the maintenance support obligation between HP and the Government regarding existing physical and logical configuration of AFRL/RIOS' HP SAN storage, server, and fibre-channel networking equipment, HP Federal Relocation Services is the only source that can reconfigure and move our SAN from one (1) location to another location. If RIOS or another third party were to move the SAN equipment and any part of it became damaged or non-functional, HP may void RIOS' support agreement which would cause extensive downtime of critical SAN storage and server resources and require additional monies to be expended to repair and then re-certify the fixed configuration with HP. Repair outside of warranty or replacement would cause significant disruption to the government's schedule and require unnecessary cost.
