Description
This announcement is for Sources only this is not an announcement of a solicitation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This is an announcement for Sources who can provide an X-Ray Fluorscense Spectometer Soil Analyzer. System must be portable, have operating system contained within the unit, must be able to take in-situ measurements of heavy metals and other contaminants in soils, sediments, tailings, and rock. SPECIFICATIONS: X-ray source must be a miniaturized, high-resolution X-Ray tube to minimize regulatory requirements and to provide optimized analysis of high Z elements like Ba, Sb, and Cd. No radioactive source is acceptable. Power of X-Ray tube should be equivalent on the order of 50 kV. Integrated color display that is easily readable in sunlight conveniently readable from back of instrument. Single, self-contained, environmentally sealed field unit. Sample measurement must be fast and simple. High Durability - rated for 3 foot drop and operation in wide temperature range. System must include a portable test stand for ex-situ sample analysis. System must have ability to interface with Global Positioning Systems (GPS) via Bluetooth, WiFi, removable memory card, and/or direct cable. System must include battery pack and charger, and additional backup battery. Each battery must be able to provide 8 hours or more continuous use on a single charge. Data from the system must be easily downloadable to personal computers via. Software must include capability to accommodate user-defined inputs. Reports must be exportable to Microsoft Excel. Radiation exposure, while shutter is open is not to exceed 0.09 mR/hour. System can quantify at least 20 elements, including all RCRA elements, and provides quick screening of sludges and liquids, as well as unprepared soil samples. Ability to simultaneously analyze for: Ag, As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Sn, Sr, Ti, Rb, U, Zn, and Zr. System shall be provided with a holster for field use, and a hard case for protection in transport. Software to include: environmental mode concentrations (ppm); and mining mode capable of distinguishing ore-grade concentrations (weight percent). System is capable of analysis of Ba in soil using Ba K x-ray lines. Must be able to activate unit while person is standing up. LOCATION: This item will be delivered to the Wyoming State Office, Cheyenne, Wyoming. The project is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000.
