Description
The work includes the rehabilitation of Pump Station No. 2 and Pump Station No. 4 as described: Pump Station No. 2 - Clean and remove flood debris from the pump station. Using divers inspect and clean the sumps and trash racks for the pumping intakes. Rebuild Refurbish the existing electric motor and provide new motor pump coupling. Remove and replace the existing reduced voltage motor controller and capacitor bank with a new VFD motor controller for immediate manual operation of the pump. Clean the existing 480 volt power distribution panel board. Remove and replace the existing 800 Amp 3 pole and 60 Amp 2 pole circuit breakers. Replace all 480 volt wiring from the utility transformer to the pump motor and 120 240 volt transformer. Flush, clean, and reuse the existing conduit. Remove and replace the existing 25 KVA single phase transformer, wiring, to the 120 240 volt panel board. Purge the pump grease lines with new grease to flush contaminants from the lines and install temporary grease zerks on all pump grease lines to facilitate manual greasing of the pump. Flush, clean and evaluate the vertical pump shaft enclosing tube enclosing tube to displace any trapped floodwater and facilitate operation of the pump. Pump Station No. 4 - Clean and remove flood debris from the pump station. Using divers, inspect and clean the sumps and trash racks for the pumping intakes. Reinstall the existing 507 Horsepower, Cat Model 3508, diesel engine for operation of the existing horizontal Worthington 48-MA-mixed flow pump. New engine oil and filter shall be installed prior to reinstallation. The engine coupling shall be cleaned, re-greased and reassembled. The pump station manual overhead crane is available for reinstallation of the engine. Reconnect the fuel supply piping from the existing 12,000 gallon steel horizontal fuel tank 8 foot dia. X 32 feet long to the reinstalled diesel engine after flushing and cleaning the piping, fuel lines inspected for damage and piping repaired for reuse. The fuel tank shall be repositioned to its original location, and re-anchored. The tank shall be inspected for the presence of water and all water removed from the tank prior to reuse. The fuel tank shall be refilled for reuse. A second 10,000 gallon diesel fuel tank shall be drained, cleaned and repaired by welding. A temporary diesel fuel system, compressed air system and vacuum priming system shall be installed to facilitate starting and running the diesel engine and priming the horizontal pump for operation. The 48 inch horizontal pump shall have all external and accessible bearings caps removed. Bearings shall be flushed to remove floodwater contaminants, lubricated oil and grease replaced to facilitate operation of the pump.
