- Description
- The Contractor shall provide all services, labor, materials, and equipment (i.e. including floating crane and transportation/mobility of the floating crane) to remove and reinstall the downstream small lock service gate leafs (two). Each downstream small lock service gate leaf weighs approximately 30-tons. Each downstream small lock service gate is approximately 43-feet tall x 18-feet 2-inches wide. Each gate leaf shall be placed on a floating barge provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The USACE shall be responsible for transporting the government provided floating barge from Salmon Bay to mooring upstream of the large lock and back to the original location. The gate leafs shall be removed with a floating crane on 17 September 2008 between the hours of 10am to 2pm. The estimated time to perform the task of lifting and placing both gates on the barge for transportation is three (3.0) hours. USACE employees shall be responsible for removing all attachments securing the gates prior to and during the lifting operations on 17 September 2008. The gate leafs shall be reinstalled utilizing the floating crane on 30 September 2008 between the hours of 10am and 2pm. The estimated time to perform the task of lifting and placing both gates back into position in the small lock is three (3.0) hours. Similarly, USACE employees shall be responsible for reconnecting all attachments to the gates prior to and during the lifting operations on 30 September 2008. The USACE shall be responsible for transporting the government provided floating barge to mooring upstream of the large lock and back to the original location. The gate leafs shall be removed with a floating crane on 8 October 2008 between the hours of 10am to 2pm. The estimated time to perform the task of lifting and placing both gates on the barge for transportation is three (3.0) hours. USACE employees shall be responsible for removing all attachments securing the gates prior to and during the lifting operations on 8 October 2008. The gate leafs shall be reinstalled utilizing the floating crane on 14 October 2008 between the hours of 10am and 2pm. The estimated time to perform the task of lifting and placing both gates back into position in the small lock is three (3.0) hours. Similarly, USACE employees shall be responsible for reconnecting all attachments to the gates prior to and during the lifting operations on 14 October 2008. The Contractor shall provide an hourly rate for additional time required to complete the operations indicated above if duration(s) exceed 3.0 hours.
