Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from qualified contractors with the capability to provide secure x-ray film shredding and recover any asset materials prior to disposal for its offices located within the United States, D.C., Alaska and Hawaii. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain market knowledge of aforementioned services and potential small business sources and their size classifications: HubZone, 8(a), Small Disadvantaged Business, Women-Owned Business, Veteran Owned Business and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business relative to North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) 561990 with a small business standard not to exceed $6.5M average annual revenue for the previous three years. Nationwide, the Department of Veterans Affairs yearly requirement for cross-cut or confetti shredding and disposal of classified/sensitive x-ray materials has been approximately one million pounds. Familiarity and compliance with regulatory laws for handling, destroying, and discarding documents containing personal, private or other sensitive data in accordance with the Privacy Data Act, NAID and HIPPA is required. Interested concerns are asked to provide a capability statement, specifying a cost effective method for assuring security of information, their standard chipping/shredding size of x-ray film, sanitation process for recovery of asset materials; such as, silver and plastic, geographical locations serviced, frequency of pickup/delivery, and address whether services are performed on or off-site. Also include company name, address, point of contact, telephone and fax number, e-mail address, DUNS Number, business size and socio-economic classification. This market research does not constitute an invitation for bid or requests for proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Responses to this Sources Sought notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate determinations about potential sources only and no Solicitation is currently available at this time. The Government will not reimburse firms for any costs incurred for their participation in this survey..
