Description

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) seeks interested parties to become partners in the Customer Driven Uniform Manufacture program, (herein referred to as CDUM). The CDUM Program is a DLA Sponsored DOD Manufacturing Technology Program. The goal of the CDUM program is to significantly improve DLA’s industrial base ability to meet DOD needs. The scope of the CDUM program includes all segments of the manufacturing processes/operations and supply chain technologies related to the production, assembling, storage, distribution and disposal of Clothing and Individual Equipment (CIE). Those companies/organizations selected to be CDUM Partners will actively participate in identifying and developing scientific and technical solutions. Availability of CIE items is critical to meeting Warfighter needs. The implemented results of the CDUM R&D projects shall be measurable improvements to the CIE supply chain. Subject to availability of funds, a total Government investment of about $4 million per year for 7 years is planned during Fiscal Years 2009-2015. This investment shall be used to fund Partner Contracts and potential subsequent R&D projects. See attached BAA-08-0008 Document for further details.
