Description
The Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Vicksburg, Mississippi, is seeking sources that manufacture Liquid Scintillation Counters as described below. The ERDC has research projects focusing on the toxicological effects of various environmental contaminants. To examine those effects the use of a Liquid Scintillation Counter (LSC) is required. The LSC directly measures the concentration of a radioisotope tracer in water, sediments or tissue which can be extrapolated to quickly predict actual matrix concentrations without the expense of sophisticated extraction and chemical analysis procedures. Below are the salient required features for the LSC: a. A built-in computer controlling the LSC and running Windows XP operating system software. The Windows operating system is required for networking at the ERDC and for running off the shelf software for LSC data analysis. b. Minimum of 50 storable user programs c. Ability to analyze from standard and miniature scintillation vials d. Single and dual label measurement capability e. Ability to measure from distinct regions of sample (minimum of three regions) f. Alpha/Beta discrimination (automatic discrimination of alpha and beta emitters) g. Automatic quench and luminescence correction h. Ultra low-level detection (minimum of 50% background reduction) i. Single, dual and triple label DPM j. Half life correction to any date or time k. Nuclide identification l. Spectral storage (LSC must be capable of saving complete spectral data) m. Delivery is required with 30 days of receipt of order. CAGE CODE MUST BE PROVIDED with response.
