Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Cardinal Healthcare, 1430 Waukegan Road, McGraw Park, Illinois 60085 to purchase the following Snowden Pencer items in accordance with FAR 6.302-1: SP90-7064 1 STD ALLIGATOR FORCEP W/O RACHET 6 EA SP90-7047 2 STD ALLIGATOR FORCEP W/O RACHET 6 EA SP90-7271 3 BARIATRIC W/O RACHET 6 EA SP90-1264 4 BARIATRIC W/O RACHET 6 EA SP90-7246 5 BARAITRIC W/RACHET 6 EA The Snowden Pencer instruments are the only ones available in the In-Line format and with a small profile allowing maximum comfort for surgeons during long cases. These instruments are already in use in the OR. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Vendors who wish to identify their interest and ability to provide an alternative item that will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer, in writing, no later than August 20, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. Such notification must include a complete description of the equipment that is required including narrative and capabilities as described above. Responses may be sent to William.Matelan@va.gov or mailed to William Matelan, Contracting Officer, (04A1-H), VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Telephone responses will not be accepted. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
