- NASA/ARC has a requirement for software upgrades to its GoldSim dynamic,simulation-based model software. The model is currently built using the commerciallyavailable GoldSim Technology Group software. The current task requests specificmodifications to the GoldSim software that would enable significant efficiency gains forthe Simulation Assisted Risk Assessment (SARA) Team at ARC.The specific upgrades include:Task 1: Update the Reliability Element to enable: Querying the status of any failuremodes during the simulation; Use of non-critical failure modes such that the elementdoes not always stop upon failure; User-defined outputs from the Reliability Elements;Output of Reliability Element results to external file, such as csv format, at the end ofthe simulation; Direct importing of failure mode data from external spreadsheet files; Use of resource tracking for representation of spare parts, availability of maintenancepersonnel, etc.Task 2: TradeSpace Exploration enhancementsAbility to archive and retrieve simulation runs in a comparative manner; Capability toset up a pre-defined set of cases that could be run in a batch mode with each caseindividually archived for later post-processing.NASA/ARC intends to purchase the items from GoldSim Technology Group (GTC) by authorityof FAR 13.106-1 (b) 1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services WillSatisfy Agency Requirements.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Such capabilities/qualifications will beevaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete thisproposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
