- The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate sole source commercial item procurement with Brain McMahon, PhD., CRC for consultative services for the development of the Richmond VAMC Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS) Assistive Technology Program. The contractor shall also provide in-service training to Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Center (PTRP) providers to develop an understanding of the assistive technology rehabilitation needs of Polytrauma patient population The purpose of this program is to Contractual relationship for consultative services in the areas of assistive technology and residential traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation to support the development of the emerging Assistive Technology (AT) Program and the Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program (PTRP). The contractor will also provide training and technical assistance for the PTRP team on the concepts and techniques related to assistive technology and residential traumatic rehabilitation for individuals with Polytrauma (TBI, SCI, and Amputation). The period of performance shall be for 12 months. This proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 12 Noon, August 19, 2008 EST to: Robert.Headen@VA.gov or Fax: 757-728-3132. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
