- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-22. The solicitation number is Q9512080110, and the solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The NAICS code is 811111 with an associated small business size standard of $6.5 million. This solicitation is full and open, however small business concerns are encouraged to submit quotes. This solicitation will result in an award of a firm, fixed-price contract. The National Park Service has a requirement to repair a 2002 model T-800 3-axle Kenworth dump truck with an 8 to 10 yard dump body that recently sustained damage from a traffic accident in which the vehicle overturned while fully loaded. The truck needs major body work, including the frame, braking system, drive shaft, and straightening the gears, as well as repairing the dump box that has a walking floor for operating the sanding unit. The contractor shall make arrangements to pick up the vehicle from Olympic National Park, complete repairs, and have the vehicle ready for inspection no later than October 1, 2008. The government will conduct inspection at the contractor's place of business, and will be responsible for driving the vehicle back to Olympic National Park upon inspection and acceptance. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and past performance considered. Past performance, when compared to price, shall be considered significantly more important than price. The government reserves the right to make award without discussions.
