- Description
- Below are questions and answers for Solicitation HU0001-08-Q-0790. Additional questions are still in the process of being answered. 1. Is it required to have support for notifications to computers, in addition to phone calls and text messages? If computer workstation licenses are provided, who is responsible for installing client software on the machines? ANSWER: Notification to computers via a net message is not a ‘go/no go' requirement. Client software from the vendor would be installed by USU; however, vendor should address software application DIACAP status IAW DoDI 8510.01, i.e. has client application been certified for use on DOD networks by any other agency. An.msi install package is preferred so the client application can be remotely installed. 2. Is it required to have Active Directory support? ANSWER: Active Directory support is preferred. 3. Do the existing Directory services contain the phone numbers of the users? If not, what is the plan to add them? ANSWER: Yes, the directory service contains the phone numbers of the users. 4. Is it required to have redundant server hardware for high reliability? ANSWER: Not an absolute requirement. Redundant/warm failover options should be quoted as an additional option. 5. Is it required to dial phone numbers through an internal PBX or outside phone lines or both? ANSWER: Both, an internal PBX and outside phone line are required. 6. When dialing a land line number, will it be internal phone numbers or outside the campus PBX system number? ANSWER: Mostly internal numbers; however, every alert will have some calls outside the campus PBX. 7. This seems to be a Hosted solution, where usuhs will have no equipment on site. All system access will be by phone or over the Web? ANSWER: Hosted solution is the preference with access via phone or web. 8. Is your preference to own the system and/or have it on-premise? ANSWER: Preference is for off premise since it provides for continued ENS functionality in the event of a local emergency. 9. Will you be adding lines for the system to use or will it share your existing infrastructure? ANSWER: System will use existing infrastructure. 10. Please clarify if there is a set-aside for small and/or disadvantage businesses and if so, that is the participation requirement? ANS: this requirement is set-aside for small business with a NAICS code of 561621 (Security Systems Services (except Locksmiths)). 11. Can the solution be an application hosted on a server? If so, who is responsible for providing the server hardware? ANS: We prefer off site usage. 12. Will the end-user be maintaining the phone numbers and email addresses? ANS: Preference is for a product that allows self enrollment and maintenance of contact information by the user.
