- It is the intent of the VA Boston Healthcare System to negotiate a solesource contract with Carl Zeiss, Inc for the purchase of a state of the art multi/photon/confocal microscope (LSM 710 NLO Multiphoton Microscope) that will allow investigators at the VA Boston Healthcare System to gain a deeper understanding of the complex mechnisms involved in the regulation of many organ systems at the molecular, cellula and tissue levels. The Zeiss optical design omits secondary dichorics and the twingate main beamsplitter arrangment leads to laser suppression. This system offers innovative low- noise electronics. This system is also required to be compatible with the Mai-Tsai laser presently being utilized at the VA Boston Healthcare System. Any offers of a system that doesn't meet these requirements will not be considered.
