Description
A second site visit has been scheduled for the subject project. The site visit will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Building 9, Rec Hall at the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio Please note the change in the response date. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center Chillicothe, Ohio anticipates award of a firm-fixed price contract to provide Design/Build service for the design and construction of Project 538-101 Nursing Home Care Unit and Rehab Medicine. The cost range for this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. All information for this solicitation will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at www.fedbizopps.go. No hardcopies will be available. Performance period for the project will be 548 calendar days from the date of receipt of Notice to Proceed. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220 and the size standard is $31.0M. This procurement will be conducted under full and open competitive negotiated procedures. Participation of Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business firms will be addressed in the evaluation criteria. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 8, 2008. A pre-proposal and site visit meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 10:00 am local time at Building 9, Recreation Hall, VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. All interested parties are urged to attend. The project objective is to renovate existing space for a community living style Nursing Home Care Unit. Site improvements shall include relocation of utilities and demolition of existing structures. Provide construction services to renovate/construct the new Nursing Home Care Unit and Rehab Medicine area, including fixed equipment, site work, utility placement and relocation, associated connections to the building and all other incidental related work as indicated in this request for proposal. Work to also include, but not be limited to, the architectural and engineering design services to complete design and coordinate documents based on the Request for Proposal specifications and drawings. Design percentage at time of issuance of the solicitation is 30 to 40 percent. There will be no public bid opening. Successful contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at http://www.ccr.gov prior to award. The proposals shall be evaluated and award shall be made utilizing the Best Value method under FAR Part 15. Contractors are advised award may be made without discussion or any contact concerning the proposal received.
