- Description
- The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a purchase order to Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE), 11720 Beltsville Drive, Ste. 900, Calverton, MD 20705. The authority for this sole source is FAR Part 6.302-1 and FAR Part 13.106-1. The contractor shall develop medical care cost estimates for injury-related deaths, hospitalizations and emergency department visits which will be made available to the public. Justification for other than full and open competition is because contractors do not have the data or the experience needed to perform this analysis. PIRE has the proprietary injury cost model required. This is not a request for competitive proposals and a solicitation is not available. Firms that believe they can provide these services/supplies are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice to the Contract Specialist prior to the response date found in this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
