- The scope of work consist of but not limited to the following work: The existing 260 ton steam fired absorption chiller and associated cooling tower, condenser water pump, and chilled water pump will be removed in their entirety. The associated steam piping and condensate piping will be disconnected and capped back to the existing mains. The condenser water piping serving the chiller and cooling tower will be removed in its entirety. The existing chilled water system will be supplied with chilled water by Duluth Steam Cooperative. Duluth Steam Cooperative will provide a plate-to-plate heat exchanger to de-couple Duluth Steam Cooperative’s chilled water from the existing building chilled water system. The new heat exchanger will be located in the existing chiller room. Capped existing Duluth Steam Cooperative chilled water piping within the building will be extended to the heat exchanger. A new chilled water pump will be provided to circulate the chilled water in the existing building system. A second new chilled water pump will be provided as a standby pump. The existing chilled water system will be provided with a new expansion tank and air separator, both will be located in the existing chiller room. The existing Direct Digital Control (DDC) system will be expanded to include all control work associated with the chilled water conversion. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded for the aforementioned services. Performance based contracting does not apply to this procurement as this acquisition is for construction services. The estimated project magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAIC) code is 236220 with a size standard of $31 million. This procurement is open to all business concerns. This solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available via the internet only. No hard copies will be mailed. Contractors are responsible for downloading their own copies of this solicitation, amendments, and other documents related to this solicitation.
