- Description
- The following are questions received on this procurement and the answers. Note: no additional questions will be entertained after 5:00 p.m. today, August 19, 2008: 1) As you may be aware, CrossMatch no longer manufactures the ID1000 and has roughly 60 still available for sale. Is TSA willing to receive either CrossMatch or L-1 Identix units in the future as long as they are compatible with Live Scan software? Answer: We would like to cycle through existing units first (former GFE), then could potentially explore other comparable units. However, we would more than likely not want to receive other units as we want to prepare ourselves for the transition to new fingerprinting equipment under the PIV program and meet HSPD-12 requirements. 2) Is TSA adjudication required for staff working on the program? Answer: We assume yes, the contractor would have to be vetted, if he is accessing the equipment/network remotely. This means they potentially have access to names, SS numbers, other personal info, etc. If so will it be via the standard eQIP methods? Answer: This would be determined by Personnel Security. 3) Has the Live Scan software been customized in any manner for DHS/TSA? Answer: Only to the extent that a drop down listing was created to identify the type of prints (i.e. TSO, FAMS, FSD Staff, etc.) 4) Under Section C of the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation there is mention of a resume not exceeding 2 pages. This is the only reference to a resume in either document. JSIG intends to provide a resume of our Program Manager. Is it to be two pages and in addition to the 10 page limitation? Answer: Resumes are excluded from the 10 page count. 5) Is a past performance summary to be inclusive of the 10 pages of Volume 1? Answer: Yes. 6) Section 4.1 refers to 24 x 7 Help Desk. What is the current volume of calls being made to the Help Desk? What are the primary hours of operation for the TSA facilities? Answer: When the COTR contact CrossMatch they stat that they receive approximately: 30 to 50 calls between 5/1//07 to 3/31/08, replacing about 15 units because there contract had a replacement clause. For additional information, over the past four months without a help desk in place, our team has received a minimal number of calls, all of which occurred during regular business hours. 7) Section 4.2 of the SOW mentions a requirement to replace 25% of the total number of deployed scanners. Is this replacement to occur over the base and option years or is this 25% per year and 75% in total? Answer: 25% over the base and option years combined. 8) Section 4.3 references software enhancements, are there current enhancements pending, how many enhancements are expected per year? Answer: There are no enhancements pending or specifically forecasted. Throughout the two years that the CrossMatch contract was in place, we only made one enhancement (referenced in 3 above). Is there a list of past enhancements available? Answer: (Referenced in 3 above) Are software updates being provided via remote access or CD currently? Answer: No software updates have been provided. If by remote access does TSA wish to continue using the method? Answer: If software updates are available, we would want these provided remotely and pushed to the computers when connected to the TSA network.
