- Project Description. The purpose of this amendment is to correct the submission dates for this solicitation. The correct response date is August 29, 2008. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is seeking temperature/humidity monitors, in accordance with the following specification: Devices for Monitoring Environmental Conditions in Server Rooms The Bureau of Indian Affairs seeks a hardware and associated software solution to effectively monitor environmental conditions in server rooms found within offices across the country. Environmental conditions in these rooms must be monitored remotely, initially for temperature, humidity, and power, but in the future, other capabilities may be added, such as flooding, smoke, room entry, etc. Specifications include the following: 1.Device shall be able to be mounted in a standard server rack. 2.Device shall be able to connect to the BIA network (LAN and WAN) through standard network protocols (e.g., SNMP) and report environmental variables through the network to desktop software in other locations. 3.Device must be able to report temperature and humidity to an accuracy within the tenth (e.g., 97.8 or 33.5%) and the presence or absence of 120 volt power. 4.The device must be able to allow for expansion for other future requirements, such as flooding, smoke, and door entry. Expansion shall allow for a minimum of 6 external sensors. 5.Desktop software management capabilities shall be included with the device. The software shall:a.Have a simple Graphical User Interface listing location names to determine temperature, humidity, and power at those locations.b.Have the ability to set alerts for critical events, such as absence of power, temperature exceeding a certain user-defined level, etc.c.Have the ability to be deployed in multiple sites throughout the country at no additional per-license fee. The maximum number of expected sites that need the monitoring software is 40.d.Have the ability to alert personnel through multiple means, such as email, desktop alerts, text messaging, etc.e.Have the ability to contain contact lists and distribution lists of personnel who will be notified in the event of an event defined by the software user.f.Have the ability to be customized for each personnel monitoring the server rooms. For example, a person monitoring from an office in Phoenix, Arizona may only want alerts and monitoring of server rooms located in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, while a person at a network operations center for the country may want alerts and monitoring for all devices.g.Have the ability to be posted on web interfaces at any location in the country on the BIA network.h.Have the ability to support from 200-300 hardware environment monitoring devices located throughout the country and connected to the BIA network.i.Software must be able to keep a log file of events that can later be searched. 6.Both the device and the software shall conform with security protocols regarding SMTP exploits and other network vulnerabilities so the device cannot be exploited for attacks. All firms or individuals responding must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Destination. Award will be made based on value of price from responsible quoters. The Government reserves the right to make award on the initial bid received without discussions.
