- Description
- The U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID),intends to award a firm-fixed price, sole-source purchase order under FAR Part 13.106 (b) with Canberra Industries, Inc., 800 Research Pkwy, Meriden, CT 06450-7169, for the purchase of a shield and stand for use with the Canberra BEGE 5030 detector located at its Radiation and Environmental Sciences Laboratory (RESL). RESL currently uses a Canberra BEGE 5030 High Purity Germanium detector that must be moved to a new location. Canberra produces a specialized shield and stand for the BEGE 5030 High Purity Germanium detector that will allow it to be moved safely and to reduce environmental background radiation to levels such that samples can be measured with it. This shields performance is guaranteed for this specialized detector system. The purchase will be for a Model #747 Top Opening Lead Shield with a Model # 747-3 Split Annular Plug and a Model #747-5 Tall Table Option. The cost for this acquisition is estimate at $16,800. The NAICS is 334516. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date. Responses are required to be submitted before September 11, 2008, 5:00 p.m. MT and must reference the RFQ number in its submittal. Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to surrusjk@id.doe and supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone requests or inquires will not be accepted.
