- The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Bio-Tek Instruments, Inc of Winooski, VT to purchase a Synergy 4 Microplate Reader for the Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. The system will include, but not be limited to a.) monochrometer detection which allows for dye label detection at the optimal wavelength determined by wavelength scanning, and b.) a filter-based system with the convenience of monochrometer-based optics to provide the broadest range of applications. NAICS 334516 - 500 Employees. To the best of our knowledge the Synergy 4 is the only system that has both monochromator-based fluorescence intensity and filter-based fluorescence intensity in one system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements is requested to submit clear and convincing evidence of their ability to provide these products. Vendors are required to include but not be limited to manufacturer's brochures, system properties and salient characteristics of the product. Written notification must be submitted to the Contracting Officer on or before the response due date of this synopsis. Information can be sent electronically to the Contracting Officer at paula.scott@va.gov or via mail to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Bldg. 5, 5000 W. National Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53295. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Bio-Tek Instruments, Inc.
