- PURPOSE: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. This is a Request for Information(RFI) for the Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This Request for Information does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ), nor does this issuance restrict the Governments acquisition approach. Wright-Patterson AFB is requesting information on equal to brand name on attached equipment list. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes are 334111, 334112 and 334119. The applicable size standard is 1,000 employees.The purpose of this RFI is to identify potential equal products capable of meeting the brand name requirements cited at Attachment 1. The items shall be of equal quality with no deviation in performance or inter-operability. The government anticipates a Firm-Fixed Price order. Your response should demonstrate capabilities, product past performance, and compatibility and comparability to the items listed. The government will neither award a contract solely on the basis of this RFI nor will it reimburse the contractor for any costs associated with preparing or submitting a response to this notice. Any Request for Proposals (RFP) or Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued electronically and will be posted on the Wright-Patterson AFB Pre-Award Information Exchange System (PIXS) web site at: https://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil/. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANY REASON. The RFP/RFQ will be issued approximately 28 Aug 2008. It is incumbent upon the interested party to review this site for updates to the documents. The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be the Single DoD registration for contractors who conduct business or who are interested in conducting business with the Department. Defense procurement and finance policies require contractors to be registered by 31 May 1998 for consideration in future solicitations, awards, and payment. DoD contracting officers worldwide will use CCR to identify sources and financial officers will use it to make payments.
