Description
The U.S. Maritime Administration has a requirement for performing environmental remediation services for the management of exfoliating paint coatings on obsolete National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) vessels that are located at the Beaumont Reserve Fleet, Beaumont, TX. The ships at anchor require a boat ride of approximately 30 minutes for access. Remediation services shall be conducted at current anchorages (ships will not be moved to facilitate remediation) in a manner that complies with all Federal, state, local and Maritime Administration environmental and worker safety laws, regulations and policies. The paint remediation will be limited to all painted exterior surfaces above the waterline to include the hull, main deck and all painted surfaces of the ship above the main deck that exhibit visible exfoliation. Task orders will be used to fund specific requirements for performance of these services. A complete solicitation package is expected to be issued on this website on or about September 3, 2008. The solicitation package may be downloaded in PDF format. The resulting award will be an Indefinite Quantity (Requirements) type fixed-price contract with a based period of one year plus four one-year option periods possible based on satisfactory performance, continuing need for services, and availability of funds. Attention: Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's), the DOT short term lending program (STLP) offers working capital financing and the form of lines of credit to finance acccounts receivable for transportation related contracts. Maximum line of credit is $750,000 at the prime interest rate, as published in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75%. For further information call (800) 532-1169.
