Description
The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, will be soliciting proposals for the fabrication and installation services of a series of exterior pedestrian wayfinding signs as part of a fast track, multi-phase project for National Mall and Memorial Parks, Washington, DC. Signage is exterior only and includes the area within the boundaries of the National Mall, West Potomac Park, and East Potomac Park, including all memorials, paths, roads, monuments, and destinations. The scope also includes the pedestrian signs at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and the design of vehicular pathfinder signs along National Mall and Memorial Parks perimeter roads. It includes pedestrian wayfinding signs; individual monument, memorial, and in-park destination signs; orientation, information and map kiosks; operations and general information signs; park rules and regulations signage; pedestrian event and temporary information signs; and an interactive computer controlled orientation kiosk. Sign structures are required in a variety of materials including, wood, steel, and aluminum, reinforced concrete, and less frequently in stone and brick. Sign panels include archival inkjet prints, routed western red cedar, digital high pressure laminate, porcelain enamel, fiberglass embedded panels, and applied vinyl on aluminum or alumilite panel substrates. The work will be divided into three distinct phases. Installation for Phase 1 will be required by January 30, 2009. Installation for Phase 2 will be required by July 31, 2009. Installation for Phase 3 will be required by January 30, 2010. The solicitation will be available via Electronic Commerce on or about September 9, 2008. Past performance information will be due on or before September 24, 2008. Proposals will be due on or before October 1, 2008. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued.
