- The Government intends to procure a Sole Source Brand Name type contract to purchase the following items. Two (2) Flute, Miyazawa, Model 602, with specification as follows; Split-e, C # Trill, D # Roller, Heavy Wall, Brogger System. Two (2) Flute, Miyazawa, Classic, with specification as follows; Split-e, C # Trill, C # Roller, D # Roller, Heavy Wall, Brogger System. JUSTIFICATION FOR SOLE BRAND INSTRUMENT PURCHASE. THIS EXACT MAKE AND SPECIFICATION ARE REQUIRED TO TRAIN STUDENTS AT THIS TRI-SERVICE COMMAND AS THIS IS THE INSTRUMENT BEING UTILIZED IN THE FLEET AND FIELD. FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE, IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE NAVY, MARINE CORPS AND ARMY STUDENTS TO TRAIN ON THE SAME EQUIPMENT USED IN THEIR SERVICE BANDS. THESE ARE MODELS CURRENTLY IN OUR INVENTORY AND ARE REPLACEMENTS FOR OLDER, UNSERVICEABLE EQUIPMENT. ADDITIONALLY, THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC REPAIR SHOP IS EQUIPPED AND STOCKED WITH INVENTORY FOR THE REPAIR OF THESE INSTRUMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN DEEMED APPROPRIATE FOR PROFESSIONAL FIELD USE.This requirement will be a Firm Fixed Price contract and will utilize procedures under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedure. The items shall be delivered, FOB Origin, to the Navy School of Music, Little Creek Amphibious Base, and Norfolk, VA 23521. The NAICS code is 454110. The items shall be delivered on or before 30 September 2008. This office will no longer issue a hard copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ); therefore, a copy can be obtained from website https://www.neco.navy.mil. By submitting an offer, the vendor is self-certifying that neither the requestor no the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept offer. By submission of an offer, the contractor acknowledges the requirement that prospective awardees must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from this RFQ, except for awards to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make a contractor ineligible for award. Contractors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at https://www.bpb.gov. The RFQ should be posted on the website on or before August 29 2008.
