Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (PHD NSWC) provides the following information for the purpose of obtaining market research for potential businesses within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334513. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. BACKGROUND: The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) requires instrumentation that can measure various angles and provide coordinate measurements using reflectors technology. In addition, all supporting equipment as well ( Battery Pack/LED, SA-TS Interface for Total Stations, License Upgrade (1) SA Base New SA License, Basic, Includes Hardware Lock, Interface cabling, Rechargeable Battery, AC Adapter, Diagonal (Right Angle) Eyepiece and Retro-Reflective Target sheets. This equipment will be used to measure various weapon elements on Navy Ships. The requirement is for a total station that has at least four different measurement modes: (1) Manual (2) Tracking/Auto-tracking (3) Seeking/Auto-pointing (4) Scanning. The total system must also have target-less measurement: (a) up to 650 feet and reflector-less measurement range at 3mm precision (b) 1 mm precision or less with reflective sheet measurements. The instrument must work with the current Spatial Analyzer (SA) software. Any firms believing that they can provide the required items may submit a written response (not to exceed five pages) to be received at the Contracting Office via email to Bryson.jo@navy.mil no later than 3 September 2008. The written response must clearly show the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, or reliability of the items or otherwise cause programmatic hardship. In addition, responses must include the following: name and address of firm; commercial activity/government entity (CAGE) code; size of business relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code; and point of contact name, title, phone, and email.
