- The purpose of this notice of intent is to notify the commercial market of the Government's intent to make an award to EMC Corporation for xTest Software Licences/Maintenance/Training. The Internal Revenue Service intends to award a purchase order to EMC for xTest Software Licences/Maintenance/Training. This requirement will be made on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(C)(ii). The requirement will be fulfilled by the delivery of the following items: xTest Standard Configuration (1 Server + Unlimited Concurrent Users + 2 File Type = PDF & AFP) and xTest Support Fee. This notice of intent to award should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a formal Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or contract. Any information provided to the Government is strictly voluntary. Responses to the notice of intent to award will not serve as proposals, bids, or offers which could be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. As such, the Government will not cover any costs for any information of inquiry submitted as a result of this request. Please include the name of the point of contact, e-mail address and telephone number should the Government have questions regarding individual responses. Please note: A SOLICITATION DOES NOT EXIST. Any comments should be provided no later that 4:00 EST on August 27, 2008. Inquireies and/or questions may be sent to the attention of Jennifer Taylor by e-mail to: jennifer.l.taylor2@irs.gov. The reference number for this announcement is IRS Requisition number Q-8-QE-40-CP-A20 000. If no compelling responses are received, the award for this requirement will be made to EMC Corporation.
