Description
NASA/LaRC has a requirement for one (1) new 18 ton industrial hydraulic carry deckcrane. The crane shall have an enclosed operator control station, 4x4 front and rear axledrive with planetary hubs, limited slip differential, diesel, capable of front 2-wheel,4-wheel, and crab steering with electronic self alignment options, and shall have agrooved drum hoist. A detailed statement of work is included as an attachment on theOn-Line RFQ system. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation,which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and awritten solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQsystem to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The informationrequired by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12, the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13, and the Test Program for CertainCommercial Items in FAR Part 13.5. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than September 2, 2008. It is the quoters responsibility to monitor this sitefor the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible fordownloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 333924 and 750 respectively. All responsible and eligible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered bythe agency. The solicitation and any document related to this procurement will be available over theinternet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application. The internet site, or URL, for the NASA/LARCBusiness Opportunities page ishttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=23. Offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation andany amendments.
