Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following Germane Systems items: Sole make and model is required, no substitutes. Part No. 70824-01, TI06-S02-1, 1U server, qty. 16; Part No. 70836-01, TI06-S08-1, 1.5U server, qty. 5; Part No. 70837-01, TI06-S09-1, 1.5U server, qty. 1; Part No. 70838-02, TI06-S10-2, 3U server, qty. 1; Part No. 71191-02, TI06-S30-2, 3U server, qty. 11; Part No. 71512-01, TI08-S09-1, 1U server, qty. 8; Part No. 71508-01, TI08-S08-1, 1U server, qty. 13; and Part No. 71514-02, TI08-S10-2, 3U server, qty. 11. Sole make and model is required because these specific configuration Germane Systems computer servers are used in the Technology Insertion 06 (TI06) and TI08 version of the submarine AN/BYG-1 tactical combat system. This portion of the combat system is being duplicated in a Submarine Multi-Mission Team Trainer (SMMTT) trainer by the SMMTT project. To assure software compatibility the hardware must be the same as the tactical system hardware decided by the Navy combat system program office. This is 100% set-aside for small business. Size standard is 1000 employees. Further details will be provided in Request For Quotation (RFQ) number N66604-08-Q-5181, which is expected to be released on or about 09/10/2008. Required delivery is 8 weeks after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. For information on this acquisition contact Eileen Emond at 401-832-1482.
