- STATEMENT OF WORK REPLACE 3 STES OF ENTRY DOORS WITH HEAVY DUTY, INDUSTRIAL DOORS BLDGS 789, 790, & 791 1. SCOPE OF WORK: Nonpersonal service to provide all labor, tools, equipment, materials, supervision, and perform all operation necessary to install three sets of Heavy Duty Doors, Chase Durulite 200 Postal/Security Door, or equal, in buildings 789, 790, and 791. 2. ORDER OF WORK: Following the removal of the existing doors, a new heavy duty door shall be installed. The minimum specifications are as follows: 2.1. Door Panel - one-piece rotationally molded construction with ¼" thick cross-linked polyethylene outer skin, which offers the lightest weight. 2.2 Internal Reinforcement - The leading and back edge of the door will be internally reinforced with tubular steel to ensure flatness and strengthened the door panels. 2.3 Insulated Core - shall be foamed in place non-CFC urethane core (permanently bonded to the outer surface) that will not breakdown when impacted, provides sound abatement, and has excellent thermal separation with an R factor of not less than 14.58. 2.4 Gasketing - shall be full perimeter that will provide full thermal separation and is factory applied without the use of metal strips or fasteners. 2.5 Upper Hinge - Shall be double-acting V-Cam hinging system that shall operate smoothly and is virtually maintenance free with its permanently lubricated needle bearing roller assemblies. 2.6 Bottom Hinge - The bottom hinge shall be attached to the internal steel reinforcement and is constructed with a ductile iron, powder coated hinge shaft for traditional strength and durability. Shall have 11 inch aluminum industrial hinge guards installed. 2.7 Bumpers - Each door shall have rotationally molded high-impact teardrop bumpers installed that will act as shock absorbers. Bumpers on each door shall be no less than 38 inches high. 2.8 Security - Each set of doors shall have installed, 5/8 inch upper and lower cane bolts, 2 inch chain or cable lock sleeves, and tamper proof fasteners shall be used to provide additional security. 2.9 Window - Each door leave shall have a double-gazed 1/8 inch thick polycarbonate recessed vision panel with three security bars spaced on 7 inch centers. 3. Prior to the installation of the new door leafs, each existing door frame must be reinforced with structural steel in order to accept the new doors. 4. QUALITY CONTROL: The contractor shall develop and follow a quality control program to ensure maintenance and repairs are performed in accordance with commercial/industry practices, manufacturer's specifications and other applicable codes and standards. The program shall include procedures to identify, prevent, and to ensure non-recurrence of defective services. A copy of this plan shall be forwarded to contracting with the bid. 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE: The Government will evaluate the contractor's performance when the contractor has completed all work. 6. HOUR S OF OPERATION: The normal operating hours for Langley AFB are from 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday thru Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. 7. SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall obtain the following pass and identification items: all necessary cards, passes, buttons, decals, or other items required of r access to the areas in which work will be accomplished. The contracting Officer will furnish a letter or process an electronic list of individuals/vehicles, requiring base passes. The contractor will be required to apply for individual and vehicle identifications at Langley AFB, Pass and Identification Section, 45 Nealy Ave, Langley AFB, VA. Upon completion or termination of this contract, or an individual's employment under the contract, the contractor shall retrieve the identification(s) issued above and surrender them to the appropriate authorities. 8. CONTRACTOR CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS. The contractor shall be a member in good standing of the International Door Association (IDA) for at least three years prior to contract award date.
