- Operational Contracting, US Air Force Academy, intends to award a sole source purchase order utilizing simplified acquisition procedures to Audio Visual Innovations (AVI), 114 Inverness Circle East, Englewood, CO 80112 for purchase of of a Digital Video Capture Classroom. The following are primary reasons for this sole source procurement, for which only one responsible sourc will satisfy the Air Force Academy's requirement: 1. This request is part of an Institutional Information Technology Applications (ITTA) funded research project led by the Department of English and Fine Arts (DFENG). This project will establish a first-ever digital video capture and feedback classroom at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) for its core advanced writing and speech course-English 411. 2. As part of this first-ever initiative, we require a user-friendly interface, including all input and output devices, for a system that will allow any instructor to operate all aspects of the classroom (cameras, projectors, audio, output selection, etc.) through a simple, graphics-driven, touch screen interface. Additionally, this user interface must work seamlessly with all associated components in the classroom. 3. This unique interface capability, including multi-system interoperability to meet our mission needs, is only available through AVI. 4. Supplies and/or services are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identifiy their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. If no response is received by September 05, 2008 to the effect that comparable supplies and/or services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and/or services through a sole source procurement with Audio Visual Innovations (AVI), a sole source award will be made.
