Description
The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is soliciting prospective contractors to design, fabricate, and deliver two prefabricated, low-profile, steel multi-beam bridge superstructures with preservative treated Douglas Fir decks. Work also includes the design, fabrication, and delivery of all necessary bridge bearing components, including but not limited to the sole plate, neoprene bearing pad, masonry plate, and anchorage device. These bridges are intended for vehicular use. Bridge width shall be 14’ out-to-out, with span lengths in the range of 36’-45’. The bridges and their components shall be delivered to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, located in Washington State. The delivery and storage site will be the Wind River Work Center, located at T4N R7E S27. The estimated start work date for this project is September 8, 2008. The bridge will need to be delivered to its storage location by November 15, 2008. The NAICS code for this project is 332312 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. This project is set-aside 100% for Small Business concerns. The estimated date of issuance for the solicitation is August 15, 2008 with proposals due on August 29, 2008. This procurement will be made utilizing FAR Part 12 procedures for the acquisition of Commercial Items. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror representing the best value to the Forest Service based upon; price; experience; and past performance. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are requested to register as interested vendors through this web site. The solicitation for this project, along with any amendments, will be made available at this internet site. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Forest Service.
