- The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is soliciting prospective contractors to provide construction services to prepare a bridge site for the placement of an 80’x14’ modular Hamilton Bridge. Work includes; excavation of approximately 800 cubic yards of compacted roadbed material; excavation and removal from the forest of a corrugated metal plate culvert approximately 7’ round; construction survey and staking; dewatering, erosion, and sediment control measures; embankment construction; construction of two cast-in-place reinforced concrete bridge abutments; sorting, hauling, and placement of riprap from Ridge Quarry located just off USFS Road #8300000; seeding and mulching of disturbed areas; and replacement of the existing aggregate roadway surface. This project is located within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, in the State of Washington. The project site is located near the end of USFS Road #8322000, over a tributary to the Muddy River, T8N, R6E, Section 22. It is anticipated that the project project performance will occur during the 2009 field season. The NAICS Code for this project is 237310 with a size standard of $31.0 million. The Government Estimate for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The estimated date of issuance for the solicitation is August 21, 2008 with offers due on September 9, 2008. The solicitation will be issued as a 100% HUBZone set-aside. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror representing the best value to the Forest Service based upon price, experience, and past performance. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are requested to register as an interested vendor in order to receive notification of any postings concerning this project. The solicitation, and any amendments, will be made available at this internet site. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Forest Service.
