- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ACQUISITION WILL BE MADE UNDER THE SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION THRESHOLD OF $100,000.00. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written RFQ will not be issued. The SIC code for this acquisition is 7041. This procurement is open to all responsible sources. The following is a description of required service: The US Geological Survey is seeking a meeting facility for a 2-day meeting of approximately 250 individuals in the Northern Virginia area. The facility must be close to a major airport for easy transportation and has on-site guest room accommodations. The meeting dates are December 3-4, 2008. No other dates will be considered. Meeting space required: one large plenary room (set theater style) and 12 half-day breakout rooms (set in a hollow square) with 20 participants per group. Audio Visual requirements for plenary session: 1 podium or lavalier microphone, two hand-held or lavalier microphones, a sound system, one laptop, LCD projector, projection screen. Audio Visual requirements for breakout rooms: flip charts and markers per room. Any hotel or conference center that can meet this entire requirement in terms of dates, location, and size of facility, have a valid Dunn & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), and are registered in CCR are invited to provide a quote. Award will be based on price, quality and rating of hotel, and proximity to airport and businesses. All quotes will be due at 2pm EST at Reston, VA on 08/18/2008.
