Description

Amendment # 1. The Social Security Administration, Region II, seeks a contractor to replace the current hot water and glycol pumps and motors with new hot water and glycol pumps and motors at the Joseph P. Addabbo Federal Building in Jamaica, Queens, NY. The building occupies eleven floors plus two sub-floors, measures approximately 950,000 square feet, with approximately 1,500 occupants. A summary of the work to be performed is as follows: The installation of hot water and glycol pumps and motors must meet all local, state, and federal plumbing codes. The hot water pump/motor assemblies have a Max Work Pressure of 175, 1,750 RPM, 340 GPM, Head of 80’, and the motor is rated at 15 Horsepower. The contractor shall furnish and install three hot water circulating pump/ motor assemblies with all related equipment and controls to the pumping assembly to equal the specifications of the existing pump assemblies (a like for like replacement). The existing glycol pump/motor assemblies have a Max Work Pressure of 175, 3,500 RPM, 380 GPM, Head of 115’, and the motor is rated at 15 Horsepower. The contractor shall furnish and install two glycol-circulating pump/ motor assemblies with all related equipment and controls to the pumping assemble to equal the specifications of the existing pump/motor assembly (a like for like replacement). The Request for Quotation containing all provisions is expected to be issued on approximately July 31, 2008 and may be downloaded at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Prospective quoters will be afforded a site visit, the date for which will be contained in the solicitation. This is a total small business set aside, conducted under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The NAICS code is 333911with a size standard of 500 employees.
