- Project Title: Replace Roof Buildings 25. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 5500 Armstrong Rd., Battle Creek, Michigan, 49037 anticipates soliciting and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Replace Roof Building 25". The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and 36 (Construction) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to provide a new flat roof system. The project includes but is not limited to: Remove all existing roofing membrane, insulation, flashing, concrete pavers, exhaust systems, and vents. Repair and/or replace decking. Provide new slope insulation, membrane roofing material, equipment supports, scuppers, drop outlet and downspout, ladders, pavers, and safety rails. Relocate drain and coping. Project includes wall repair. The location of the work will be at the above stated address. The period of performance shall be 90 calendar days. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about Monday Aug 25, 2008. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 15 days after issuance of solicitation. Magnitude of Construction: $25,000 to $100,000. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 238160 - Roofing Contractors -($13 million). Important Information: The Government will in no way be obligated to issue a solicitation or award a contract for the aforementioned work, and is providing this as information only. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. Currently a Total Set-aside for Small Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms is anticipated. However, if interest by Small Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms proves inadequate, an alternate set-aside or full and open competition may be determined. Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR located on the web at www.ccr.gov). It is desirable that any offeror to have completed their business Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Furthermore, to make award to a SDVOSB concern, the firm must also be registered with the VetBiz registry at vip.vetbiz.gov. Questions may be directed to Scott D.
