- THIS PROCUREMENT IS UNRESTRICTED. The Smithsonian Institution is seeking Offers for the following: It is the intention of the Smithsonian Institution (SI) to continue with the Second Phase of a five year program at the National Zoological Park to Replace the Facilities Water Service and Utilities. Under the second phase of this project, SI will replace existing water and add supplemental voice/data raceways from the Veterinary Hospital valve installed as part of Phase I to the Great Ape House. The project includes installation of new fire hydrants, connection of fire protection piping to existing building services and cutting and capping several existing water supply lines. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will consist of two parts. Part 1: Technical Proposal in which the Offerors establish their qualifications in accordance with the following Evaluation Standards: (1) Firms Experience and Past Performance; (2) Plan of Accomplishment and Contract Time; and (3) Key Personnel and Subcontractors. Part 2: Schedule of Values and Contract Price. Contractor must be registered in the Central Contract Registration (CCR) prior to award. Registration may be accomplished at www.ccr.gov of 1-888-CCR-2324. The Period of Performance is 300 calendar days from date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Issuance o/a August 15,2008; receipt of proposal September 16, 2008.
